An American is the first non-Chinese person to die of the coronavirus disease. The American was 60 years old. They died at Jinyintan Hospital in Wuhan, where the virus originated.
A Japanese man in his 60's also died on Saturday with the symptoms of the deadly viral disease. The amount of those killed by the virus has increased to 722.
Most deaths have occured in Wuhan, China. 17 foreign nationals are currently being held in quarantine in China.
Chinese government leadership has cancelled travel all around China, closing factory districts and sealing off entire cities. There are currently 330 cases in 27 countries. Only two deaths from the virus have occured outside of China.
The death toll is expected to surpass the SARS epidemic, another deadly strain of the coronavirus that infected over 8,000 between 2002 and 2003.
